In Well, Water Does Not Appear, memories of childhood dragons, spectral road signs, and body-like speleological formations slip into view only to vanish again. Like water, memory leaks, evaporates, condenses, and returns. Images crystallise briefly inside a well of intimate recollections that summons life, death, and potential ghostly visions. They form a chain of encounters in which seeing and being seen continually dissolve into one another.
Articulated around a series of photographs taken by Rudy Guedj during two visits in Japan, this publication reveals a mysterious hallucinatory journey marked by synchronicity.
